Where to search for journals and articles through the library and how to search for peer reviewed articles.

The best place to find peer reviewed articles and journals is through the library's databases. You can find those under the Library Resources tab on our home page. From there you can choose to browse our comprehensive databases (recommended for starting out), as they cover every subject OR you can choose a subject that closely matches your topic and browse the databases under that subject.

We recommend starting with databases like ProQuest Central or JSTOR. To find journals, you'll click on the name of the database you want to browse and type in a few keywords that describe or relate to your topic and begin browsing your results. To select "peer reviewed" articles, there is generally a check box that you can mark to tell the database to only retrieve peer reviewed results. For Proquest, the box is located beneath the search bar at the start or at the top of the filters on the results page.

You may be required to login before browsing the databases. If you see the screen as seen below, you will use the same log in as you would for Canvas:
